Meet Rebecca, a beautiful older kitten who resembles a raccoon with her dramatic calico coat!
Rebecca spent the 4 months in a wonderful foster home and at the start she was very shy, choosing to hide away and hiss. Her foster carer was very patient and gave her all the time she needed to reveal her affectionate, gentle nature and she turned into a very playful kitten with ‘Da Bird’ and wand toys being her all time favourites.
Rebecca settled in well with the resident cat and eventually took over her carer’s bed. Whilst her siblings and the resident cat were off somewhere else, she was often found fast asleep next to her foster Mum and would let her rub her belly and give her lots of pats.
Rebecca is not yet comfortable being picked up but that may come in time and she a calm and loving household will the perfect place for her.
Due to her shyer personality it’s really important that she is kept in a separate safe room on her own for at least two weeks so she can get used to her new surroundings and the sounds and smells within it. When she is ready you will be able to introduce her gradually to the rest of the house, always allowing her to run back to her safe room if needed. It’s a good idea to provide two or three hiding places for her in the main part of the house so that she can venture out but still feel secure.
Rebecca can peacefully live with another cat, provided that you follow our advice and introductions are made slowly and carefully.
