Cody (aka Boris) adopted by Prue in August 2019, is one very happy chappy… Prue reports…
” He takes himself for walks outside. He jumps the fence to visit the dog’s back yard next door. But he always comes home when I call him . . . . eventually . . . . for those five dental crunchies.”
Prue is doing the right thing makes a good point: If your cat is going to be an outside cat (after many months of settling in first) it’s a good idea to get him into a food routine. If you call when something nice is going to happen (like giving him yummy food) he will get used to coming to you. Then when he starts to go outside you can use the same call and food to get him back in to stay in for the night – safe and sound.
